Dark circles are located in the crescent-shaped depression of the tear trough. This is one of the first areas to show signs of ageing due to loss of volume around a bony structure. Skin stretches over the hollow forcing it to become more prominent and often pigmented in appearance. The concern may be amplified when skin above the dark circle bulges due to fat produced by the body to compensate for loss of volume.
Even when daylight illuminates the convexity and makes it look lighter, the concave dark circle remains a shadow, which can add years to appearance. If you want to learn more, visit Dr Naveen Somia in either Bondi Junction or Bella Vista. There you can see what he recommends for you on how to get rid of dark circles under eyes.
