As with any major life decision, the first step when considering a plastic or cosmetic procedure is research.
But where to go?
In this blog series we look at where to look, what to look for and how to choose the right surgeon.
In Part 1 we take a look at where to look for the best information on plastic and cosmetic surgery.
1. Australian Society Of Plastic Surgeons
The peak body for Specialist Plastic Surgeons in Australia. A great resource with information on procedures, information for patients and information on patient safety.
2. Australasian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons

5. Realself.com
Real patients share their treatment experiences, along with doctor reviews and opinions on whether the procedure is worth it (or not). Ask questions from highly trained experts.
6. Patient Forums
Online patient forums such as Plastic Surgery Hub are another resource to hear about real patient journeys.
In Part 2 of this plastic surgery research blog we will discuss what information to look for when conducting research.
As always, no procedure is without risk. A discussion of all potential benefits and complications should be held during consultation with a certified Specialist Plastic Surgeon.
If you have any other questions or concerns about plastic surgery or the procedures plastic surgeons perform, send an enquiry on our contact page and we will do our best to help.
