For the best results from an upper eyelid lift, the surgeon must consider the tissue dynamics and tissue elasticity of skin and muscle.
In a recent study, Japanese surgeons operated successfully on 50 patients. By measuring the maximum eyelid height on stretch and the resting eyelid height with eyes closed, the surgeons were able to achieve excellent results and patient satisfaction.
A six month follow up of the 50 patients revealed a high degree of patient satisfaction and improvements in psychological factors such as self esteem and confidence.
